Cats rule the internet. They rule at home. Who runs the world? Cats. The fact that cats are our feline overlords is made even more evident in a map that has gone viral. First tweeted by Wayne Chu on May 17, it shows the world with a giant cat drawn over it, with several continents making up the cat’s body and Australia as a little toy the cat is playing with.
The cat map has been retweeted more than 51,000 times and liked more than 85,000 times. It appears to be a variation of one tweeted last summer.
Some have started commenting on where their country falls on the cat map. Here in the United States, we make up the cat’s butt, which is actually pretty perfect when you think about it. Cats are always trying to put their behinds in your face and us Americans are not a shy people. We put it all out there, butts and all, whether you like it or not.
At least one person felt bad that New Zealand was not represented at all.
Hey, we all know cats do what they please, and if they don’t feel like including New Zealand, they won’t. If this map has taught us anything, it’s that the world belongs to cats and we are powerless to do anything about it. Might as well accept it.
